Ostomy AssociationsAustralian ostomy associations are non-government, voluntary, self-help organisations which distribute stoma appliances and provide information, encouragement and emotional support to their members concerning most aspects of living with a stoma. The ostomy associations have locations in all Australian States and Territories. The twenty-two Australian ostomy associations are represented nationally by the Australian Council of Stoma Associations (ACSA). The purpose of the ACSA is to promote the general welfare of persons who have undergone surgery for the formation of a stoma. ACSA liaises with government, suppliers and other related groups on behalf of the ostomy associations.
