About me: Hi i'm Nancye, an ileostomate from Vic. I enjoy long-distance running, rock climbing, Thai Chi Chuan (Im qualified as 2nd degree Black Belt). I also enjoy gardening, reading novels and writting and publishing short books.
Why i want to support you: I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2003 at age 53, and after trying various medications, I had a total colectomy in 2012, removing my large bowel and rectum. I’ve loved my stoma from the beginning and have no regrets. Sure, I faced leaks and blockages, but now I know which foods to avoid and use the right appliances to keep my ileostomy in check. Although I still manage recurring Crohn's with self-administered biologics and Methotrexate, plus I had a stoma hernia operation, I truly embrace my stoma and the life it has given me. I love my stoma.
