    When away from home it can be a challenge to clean around the stoma

    In situations where access to tap water and/or proper cleaning facilities are limited it can be a challenge to clean properly around the stoma. See below for recommendations.

    Brava® Skin Cleanser Brava® Skin Cleanser

    The new Brava® Skin Cleanser is the convenient way to both clean skin and care for it when changing your appliance. It can be used as a substitute for water to clean the skin and has provitamin B5 added which helps to maintain healthy skin, manage redness and soothe irritated skin.

    Brava® Skin Cleanser is the convenient way to both clean skin and care for it when changing your ostomy and continence appliance.

    IMPORTANT! If you have any concerns – such as skin problems or how to use new products – you should always consult your Stomal Therapy Nurse.

    Order samples
    • The skin must be completely clean and dry in order to obtain optimal adhesion. Make sure you use a soft material to dab the moisture away. If a hair dryer is available to you, this can also be used to dry the area around the stoma. Use it from a suitable distance on a low setting. 
    • It can be a challenge to keep the skin dry during application if output is continuously coming out of the stoma. It might help to wrap a little gauze around the stoma while changing to absorb output.
