As a Coloplast ambassador, I'm here to offer support, answer any questions and be a helping hand for Ostomates as they navigate their stoma journey.

Get to know me

Having experienced the challenges of living with a stoma twice, once with a temporary ileostomy and now with a permanent colostomy, I understand how overwhelming it can be. However, my journey has shown me that life after stoma surgery can be filled with confidence, freedom, and even laughter. As an Ambassador for Diabetes Australia and a Peer Support Champion and Ambassador for Coloplast, I’m dedicated to helping others, especially those facing similar challenges. My goal is to share my story and provide hope, showing that thriving is possible after such a significant change.

My ostomy story

My stoma journey began after a traumatic labour that caused lasting complications. I had an unexpected ileostomy that was reversed after six months. Despite my surgeon’s efforts, I ultimately needed a permanent colostomy, which I’m happy with. My stoma, Joey, has given me back my freedom and quality of life. Now, I’m an author and keynote speaker focused on improving healthcare systems. Joey has given me many funny moments, from airport security mishaps to unexpected surprises. A stoma isn’t an end; it’s a new beginning. Joey has changed my life, and I hope my story inspires others to embrace this journey with confidence and laughter.

Join our upcoming catchups

I will now be hosting bi-monthly catchups, giving ostomates a regular space to connect, share experiences, and support one another. These relaxed sessions are designed to help you feel heard, understood, and part of a community that truly gets it. Whether you're newly adjusting or have been living with a stoma for years, everyone is welcome.

Each session will explore a different theme based on what matters most to you (from managing daily routines to navigating social situations and boosting confidence). It’s a chance to ask questions, swap tips, or simply listen in and know you’re not alone. I’d love for you to join us.
