Get to know me

Hi there,

My name is Kirsty and I’m a proud wife and mum of two, with both kids being stoma pregnancies. I live in sunny Perth, where you’ll mostly find me being with my husband and kids, but I also enjoy being amongst the fresh air in nature, keeping active at the gym, or getting dressed up for a night out.

I believe in making the most of every moment and finding the positive in every situation!

My ostomy story

I've been embracing life as an Ostomate since 2015! My journey started 20 years ago back in 2005 when I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at the age of 19. After nearly a decade of heavy medications and treatments, I chose to have surgery for a better quality of life. It’s been a wild ride, with multiple surgeries, a J-pouch that never really worked for me. But now I am on my fourth stoma, which has truly given me back the freedom I was searching for.

My ostomy bag of choice is a soft convex Mio from Coloplast, and it’s been an absolute game-changer. I’m passionate about sharing my journey and proving that life with an ostomy can be full, vibrant, and empowering. Sure, there are tough days, but they don’t define who I am 💜.
