Our Mission: Making life easier for people with intimate healthcare needs

Coloplast develops products and services to make life easier for people with deeply personal and private medical conditions. These conditions are often associated with trauma and taboo. The more intimate the condition, the greater the requirement to come closer to customers, understand their world and develop solutions that are sensitive to their special needs. We call this Intimate Healthcare.

Values

Our values define the way we think and act, both as individuals and as a company.

Closeness to all customers makes this possible. We listen to better understand needs, and respond by finding new ways to do things better together. We lead the way by bringing the best ideas first and fast to market in the form of medical devices and service solutions. Deeply private and personal medical conditions are our focus.

Our passion to make a real difference to people’s lives is what drives and unites us. Our culture supports high ambitions, and releases the full potential of our own people to achieve them.

Respect and responsibility are the cornerstones of closer customer relations. We must be honest, open and show integrity in everything we do. We have deep respect for the personal and private nature of the conditions end users face. It's our responsibility not just to focus on finding medical solutions, but to find ways of minimizing the trauma and taboo associated with these conditions.

Respect for one another and the world around us will always be at the heart of the Coloplast culture. As Coloplast people, we’re accountable for our decisions and actions. As leader in our market, we take our responsibility seriously, showing respect for the environment, society, and ethical issues in everything we do.

Corporate Responsibility

A commitment to sustainable healthcare

As a global medical devices company, we're committed to acting with integrity and responsibility throughout our operations. To us, that means respecting our employees, customers and the environment.

Progress and challenges

We measure corporate responsibility, address challenges and set goals. We would like our actions, our core operations, and all the choices we make every day to have a positive impact on the world around us.

Employees

Our ambition is to have satisfied employees who feel they have equal opportunities to grow within our organisation. We are also focused on meeting our health and safety targets. For instance we would like to raise the number of women in top management to 22% from 11% by the end of 2017.

Customers

Our goal is to make our customers’ lives easier by providing them with personalised services and safe, trustworthy products. One of the ways we do that is by offering phthalate-free alternatives for 98% of our products containing certified phthalates. Our target is to reach 100%.

We want to ensure all our employees follow our Code of Conduct when interacting with healthcare professionals. Currently 95% of our white-collar employees have been trained in our Code. Our target is to reach 100% of them.

Environment

We attempt to minimise the overall strain on the environment caused by our activities by focusing on the entire lifecycle of our products. Last year we reduced our CO2 emissions on energy use from our production and facilities by 3%. Our total production waste was 9,145 tonnes last year, and 24% of that went into recycling.
