BodyCheck – understanding body profiles
In eight easy steps, BodyCheck helps you assess body profiles and decide on an appropriate product solution for each individual patient.
BodyCheck notepads
Based on Body Profile Terminology, our BodyCheck notepads have step-by-step illustrations for identifying a patient’s peristomal body profile. A useful tool when discussing individual body characteristics with patients and choosing an appropriate stoma solution.
Assessing peristomal skin conditions
The Ostomy Skin Tool is designed to provide an efficient method for determining the cause and severity of peristomal skin conditions. It also provides recommendations on how to monitor and manage these conditions.
Assessing quality of life in stoma care
The Stoma Quality of Life tool (Stoma-QoL) is a simple, validated questionnaire that can be used to measure quality of life for people with a stoma, and identify the issues that may cause anxiety or concern.
Surgical Information pads
Understanding the basics of a surgical procedure is important for many patients, as it can help them feel prepared and better able to cope. These Surgical Information Pads are an educational tool for proactive patients who would like detailed information about their surgery.
The pads are available for:
- Abdomino-perineal excision of rectum (APER)
- Low anterior resection
- Hartmann’s procedure
- Total colectomy
- Restorative proctocolectomy
- Pan-proctocolectomy
- Ileal conduit
Ostomy Care Plan
The Ostomy Care Plan is a comprehensive plan of care that follows the patient pathway from pre-, peri- and postoperative management through to discharge. If the patient does not follow the pathway, the care plan can be changed or some of the elements left out.
The Ostomy Care Plan can be used by experts to:
- Educate and train nurses and other HCPs, regardless of experience level, and thus ensure the level of stoma care quality
- Educate and train stoma patients and their relatives
