Biatain Fiber helps you manage challenging wounds

How does it work?

• Effectively absorbs and retains exudate and bacteria, reducing exudate pooling.
• Keeps in shape with minimal shrinkage, minimising the risk of gap creation and further exudate pooling.
• Forms a cohesive gel upon contact with exudate. It helps ensure a moist wound healing environment and easy one-piece removal.

When to use it:

Biatain Fiber is indicated for use in:

• Chronic wounds such as diabetic ulcers, leg ulcers (arterial ulcers, venous ulcers and leg ulcers of mixed aetiology), pressure ulcers (stage II-IV).
• Acute wounds such as oncology wounds, traumatic wounds, partial-thickness burns, donor sites, and post-operative surgical wounds.

Some gelling fibers shrink by more than 36%1. This may lead to gaps between the dressing and the wound bed and create space for exudate pooling.

Biatain Fiber retains its shape when in use with minimal shrinkage. This secures close contact with the wound bed during wear-time to minimise gap creation and exudate pooling.

If a dressing is not strong enough in wet condition, it may break apart, requiring piece-by-piece removal and leading to uncertainty about whether all residues have been removed from the wound.

Upon contact with exudate, Biatain Fiber forms a cohesive gel to ensure a moist wound healing environment. The strength of the gel ensures easy one-piece removal to reduce pain for the patient during dressing changes.
